Now let us talk about the admission procedures at IISER which is a bit more confusing than that of other colleges.
GATEWAYS TO IISER
There are 3 channels through which a student can get onto the IISER. Now let us talk about it:
1) KVPY - "kishore vaigyanik protshahan yojana" one of the most important exams for the student who wants to pursue a carrier in the field of basic science. The student who have qualified all the stages of the KVPY whether, at SA, SX or SB level can fill-up the form under the KVPY channel which is provided separately.
2) JEE - All the students who have qualified JEE advance exam with all India rank of 10000 in CRLin general category can fill-up the form under the JEE channel which is also provided separately on the admission portal.
3) SCB - "states and central board channel", This is the most confusing channel for the candidates. Let us talk about it more clearly. This is the channel for the student who has achieved marks in their respective boards, which is above the cutoff marks published by the INSPIRE. you can get that on their websites. Now if you have got that much marks , then you are eligible for filling up the forms for the entrance test.
NOTE-
1) The students filling forms under the KVPY or JEE channel need not fill any other forms.
2) There will be no entrance examination for the student filling forms under the KVPY Or JEE channels. There will be direct counselling and college will be provided according to the ranks in your respective exams.
3) The entrance exam will be conducted only for the student who are filling forms under the SCB channels.
50 per cent of seats in all the IISERs is filled up by KVPY and JEE channels.
The rests of 50 per cent are filled up through SCB channels.
